Strictly Come Dancing Bobby Brazier's huge new gig away from the show


Strictly Come Dancing’s breakout star Bobby Brazier has landed a huge new role away from Albert Square. Prior to his appearance on the reality show the star was best known for playing Freddie Slater in BBC soap EastEnders.

However he has become in demand since the show and has been cast in an increadibly high profile role that will air on Paramount. In an ironic twist of fate he will be appearing opposite othe EastEnders legends.

His co-stars include Anita Dobson who played the iconic Angie Watts, Lucy Benjamin who starred as Lisa Fowler and was at the centre of one of the shows greatest whodunnits when she shot Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).

Another co-star is Larry Lamb who portrayed villain Archie Mitchell. He spent a year in the soap before being killed off. The foursome will star in Curfew, which will air on Paramount.

The thriller is an adaptation of Jayne Cowie’s novel After Dark, which series follows a society governed by The Women’s Safety Act, where men are tracked by ankle tags. When a woman is brutally murdered after hours, a police officer tries in vain to prove one of her fellow females wasn’t responsible.

They are not the only soap stars starring in the drama. Mandip Gill, who played Hollyoaks Phoebe McQueen and James Craven Coronation Street’s Aaron Sanford, have also signed onto the project.

The fleet footed star has clearly organised a fanastic contract with the soap.

While most stars of the show aren’t allowed to take on outside work he is being handed an opportunity.

Despite this he is confirmed to return to the show this summer as Freddie Slater and it has been teased that he will come back with Big Mo (Laila Morse) in tow.

The two are also destined to star in a TikTok spin-off series that will follow their time living in Mo’s caravan, prior to their return to Albert Square.

Bobby will play James, a schoolboy who is vehemetly opposed to the rules imposed on their community by the regime.

His former EastEnders co-star Lucy Benjamin will play DCI Sue Ferguson, one of the policing team.

Meanwhile Gavin and Stacy legend Larry Lamb stars will play Rhys Holden, a man who arrives in the UK from America and struggles to live under the restrictions.

Anita Dobson,who is techincially Lady May as the wife of Queen guitarist Sir Brian May, will appear as Janet, a woman who runs a refuge for women who don’t want to cohabit with men.
