'I work in a nursery and there’s a type of parent we hate – and it's down to dress'

A woman who works in a nursery has shared the significant errors made by parents that greatly frustrate the staff.

Tahlia Lehmann, who works in early childhood education as a nursery educator revealed the type of parent such staff members hate – and it’s all down to how they dress their child, reported The Sun.

Tahlia turned to social media to reveal the four clothing items she has come to dislike about young children. She posted a video on TikTok and said: “Things I have started to hate in childcare, each to their own.”

Tahlia expressed her dislike for when parents dress their child in tights, when this happens, she explained: “Then you have kids running around with their tights half down and their nappy out.”

Moreover, she isn’t fond of singlet dresses, citing their lack of “sun-smart” features as the reason.

Slip-on shoes also give her shivers down her spine as she shared that such shoes “always fall off”.

Finally, the fourth item that Tahlia has started to hate is when parents send their children to nursery wearing “hats that are too big or without strings”.

Tahlia then asked her followers: “What’s your hates in childcare?”

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @tahlsyywalsyy, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up more than 1,000 likes.

Numerous nursery workers and early years educators resonated with Tahlia’s sentiments, with many sharing in the comments the things that they find intolerable.

One person said: “Overalls, toys from home (other than comfort toys) and pull ups on children who aren’t toilet training!!!” To this, Tahlia replied: “Yes yes and YES.”

Another added: “Parents that arrive at close and expect an in depth handover. Parents who only bring one set of spare clothes…”

A third commented: “Gloves for children instead of mittens. They can’t get their fingers in!”

Whilst someone else wrote: “SKINNY JEANS!! NO STRETCH, SKIN TIGHT, SKINNY JEANS!”

In response, Tahlia penned: “Yes, very hard for toilet trainers too.” At the same time, another wrote: “Hats in general. They don’t keep them on and then lose them. It’s so pointless.”
