Gardening expert shares five simple steps to transform your lawn in just four weeks

Do you feel sad every time you see your garden? A gardening expert has shared a way to make your lawn look great in just four weeks.

When grass doesn’t get enough water, it can turn a dull colour. This can happen even when it’s rainy if the soil doesn’t let water through.

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) says it can be hard to fix the soil when this happens.

Also, if you’re trying to sell your house, a messy garden could make it worth two percent less. But don’t worry, gardening expert Jack Skilling has five easy steps to make your lawn look amazing in just one month.

On TikTok, using the name @thelawnpack, Jack shared a video of a beautiful lawn. He wanted to show how different it looked before and after his tips.

He said: “We started by scarifying the lawn, this removed any excess thatch and allowed the lawn to breathe.” You can do this with a rake or a special machine. It means scratching the grass to get rid of the thatch.

Jack said the next step is to put down some good fertiliser that helps the grass grow strong and healthy.

He continued: “Step three is to apply an appropriate high-quality seed mix, which in this case was all dwarf ryegrass to make sure it was resilient as it was being used quite frequently by pets and general usage.”

Ryegrass grows fast and beats weeds, making a thick lawn when cut short, according to Cotswold Seeds.

“We then applied liquid seaweed, which is an organic bio-stimulant and will help root development,” Jack added.

Seaweed has lots of good stuff for the grass to grow better and stronger. The Garden Lawncare Guy explained that this special seaweed makes plants grow well, feel less stressed, and stay healthy.

The last step is to water the lawn every day for four weeks.

Jack concluded: “The same process is entirely possible with your lawn, so in four weeks your lawn could be vibrant and green too.”
