Full list of the official currency in each European country – 25 don’t use the Euro

The official currency in every European country may surprise you, with only half using the Euro. Europe is home to 746.4 million people in 50 nations, with more than 200 languages spoken across the continent.

Unsurprisingly, the most commonly used currency is the Euro, used by 25 countries. Most of those entering the European Union are expected to join the currency if they meet certain criteria.

Among the 25 other countries not using the Euro are Albania, Hungary and Switzerland, using currencies such as the Let, the Forunt and the Swiss Franc.

Several names for currency translate to “crown”, including the Czech Koruna and the Norwegian Krone.
