WASHINGTON — Former Texas congressman Will Hurd on Thursday joined the long list of candidates challenging Donald Trump for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
Hurd, 45, was a former CIA officer before he won election to the House in 2014. He served three terms in Congress, but decided to not seek reelection in 2020.
Hurd, a vocal critic of former President Trump, announced his White House bid during an appearance on CBS.
“This morning I filed to be the Republican nominee for president of the United States,” Hurd said.
