Expert shares 'simple' way to keep your home warm and mould-free this winter

Get rid of mould “for good” with a simple home trick from an expert. Mould is a big problem in many UK homes, especially when it’s cold outside.

It grows because of damp and condensation, which love warm houses. People usually open windows to stop this, but that’s too cold in winter.

But don’t worry, there’s a cheap and easy way to keep mould away! Jamie Jones, founder of Open Space Concepts, told the Daily Record that putting plastic on your windows can save energy, stop damp and mould, and make you healthier.

He said: “When it comes to mould, remember that prevention is key. It’s important to stay observant and address any signs of moisture or mould growth quickly so that, with proper maintenance, you can keep it at bay and create a healthier environment for yourself and your family.”

If you ignore mould, it can ruin your house and make you sick, especially if you already have trouble breathing. Instead of spending lots of money on dehumidifiers, just put some plastic material over your windows. Jamie says it’s “one of the best and most simple ways” to fight mould.
