Drivers can buy used Porsche EV for under £50,000 as oversupply continues to slash prices

Jim started the video by showing viewers a white 2019 Renault Zoe, which was listed on Auto Trader for £8,800, over £22,000 less than the price of a brand-new model.

Whilst the Zoe hatchback is a little long in the tooth, first entering production in late 2012, Jim noted that its 186-mile range makes it a perfect choice for a commuter vehicle that is cheap to run.

He also noted that the particular example seen had only one previous owner and 30,500 miles on the clock, meaning future buyers are likely to have little hassle from it.

For motorists looking for something larger for their next model, Jim highlighted that roughly the same price can also buy a higher-mileage Nissan Leaf.

He continued: “2019 Nissan Leaf, this is the facelifted version of the Leaf and a 40kWh N-Connecta hatchback. This one’s got 168-miles of range, £8,810.

“You can get a Leaf for almost any budget now, but I think the facelifted one is quite a big improvement. This one’s got 56,000 miles on it, it’s a 2019 model but you get it for under £9,000.”

However, Jim noted that the biggest value to be had on the used car market is with electric sporty models, noting that buyers can pick up a 155mph Porsche for nearly half the price it cost three years ago.

He added: “As we move on to the next one, let’s just imagine a world where you’ve bought an EV, lived with it for a bit, and apparently hated it. And that car was a Porsche Taycan and you’ve lost tonnes of money.

“This one’s the Taycan Performance 4S, 25,000 miles on it. £49,964, under £50,000 is getting you into a three-year-old Porsche. Not bad at all.”
