'Creepy' optical illusion sends everyone 'crazy' after they finally spot what's happening

A mind-boggling optical illusion has left folks scratching their heads, as they struggle to figure out what’s happening in the “crazy” picture.

The image was posted by @TheMuffReport on Instagram, who wrote: “Why did it take my brain so long to figure out what was going on in this picture?” and it seems they weren’t alone.

Many people were stumped by the image, but Associate Professor Paul E Dux from the University of Queensland explains that those with good “spacial attention” or just “lucky” because their eyes fall where they’re supposed to be, will find it easier to decipher.

The image is actually of a dog in a harness, but many found it “creepy” due to the dog’s eyes appearing to be in the wrong place. To solve this optical illusion, you need to look at it from a different angle.

If you’re looking at this on your phone, focus on the right side where the dog’s harness is. You’ll see that the dog has arched his back and turned his head to the side.

Because of the way the dog has turned its face, it appears as if one eye is in the wrong place – but it’s actually just a part of his mouth, seen from the side. Many people were puzzled as to why they couldn’t spot this immediately.

One person said: “I’m not sure how long I’m supposed to look before I figure it out. But it hasn’t happened yet,” while another remarked: “Wow that took me way too long to figure out.”

“Such a crazy optical illusion,” commented a third, with another adding: “Wow, that was so confusing”. A fifth person stated: “My brain hurts.”
