The Browns’ quarterback room just got more crowded.

After drafting both Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders last year, Cleveland added another passer via the NFL draft on Saturday in Pittsburgh as it selected Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green in the sixth round.

The Browns used the No. 182 overall selection to take Green, who played three years at Boise State before finishing his college career with two seasons at Arkansas.

Cleveland now has four quarterbacks with Gabriel, Sanders, Green and veteran Deshaun Watson all competing for playing time.

Green, who passed for 19 touchdowns last season and added 777 yards on the ground, impressed at the combine as he ran a blazing 4.36 40-yard dash.

Browns general manager Andrew Berry praised Green’s “rare physical gifts” when speaking to reporters over the weekend.

“He has size. He has elite speed. He has a big arm,” Berry said, via ESPN. “He’s going to need some polish with his game, but he has the work ethic and he has the acumen to do so.”

Green will have the opportunity to impress Todd Monken and the rest of the Browns’ new coaching staff, though early indications are that Sanders and Watson will have the edge.

The pair reportedly split first-team reps at the only minicamp practice last week open to reporters.

Sanders, who fell to the fifth round of last year’s NFL draft after his impressive college career, finished last season with seven passing touchdowns, 10 interceptions and a 56.6 completion percentage in eight games (seven starts).

He took over the quarterback job after a run of six starts for Gabriel, who suffered a concussion in November following four starts from Joe Flacco, who was traded to the Bengals.

Watson has not played since suffering an Achilles tear in October 2024.
