Air fryer chocolate cookies are 'simple' to make and cook in just six minutes

Cookies are so versatile thanks to their simple dough base and can be flavoured with almost anything.

From sweets and chocolate to nuts and fruit, there are endless flavour possibilities when it comes to these homemade treats.

But sometimes it’s best to keep it straightforward and this air fryer recipe does just that.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, baking expert and founder of Candy’s Cupcakes, Candice Bannister said: “Whether you’re making brownies, cookies or cupcakes, baking recipes are a great way to use up any leftover chocolate.

“If you’ve had enough of eating sweet stuff, you can always freeze the cookies and enjoy them at a later date. So why not try this simple air fryer chocolate cookie recipe, that takes less than 20 minutes to make?”‌

Unlike many recipes that require time for the dough to rest, Candice’s formula is quick and easy to follow in a hurry.

Start by preheating the air fryer to 190C, then make a start on the cookie batter.

In a bowl, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar to form a thick paste.

Mix in the egg and vanilla extract to loosen the mixture, then in a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients.

This includes the flour, baking soda and salt, which should all be whisked together before transferring into the wet mixture bowl.

When everything is combined, shape the batter into a large ball of dough, then portion out into smaller balls.

Place no more than four in the air fryer basket at any one time to ensure they have space to spread. Cook for five to six minutes, or until golden brown.
