A woman has shared how she managed to redecorated her home bathroom with one bargain product – and it made the room look completely different.
If you are bored of looking at the same decor in your home, or have recently moved, it might be time for a change up and some DIY.
While you might go all out and change your furniture or add new accessories like frames and vases to your home for a new look, a simple lick of paint or changing a floor can be super effective.
Ashton decided it was time for a change up in her bathroom and get rid of the exisitng white tiles. She had heard people raving about some vinal floor stickers on social media and knew they would look perfect in her home.
She rushed to her local B&M to get her hands on them, but confessed: “Nearly gave up my search when I couldn’t find them in store. Found them right in the corner when I was just about to leave.”
Priced a £14 for a pack, Ashton picked up two packs and spent £28. Once home, she cleaned her floor in the bathroom, before starting to stick down the wood-effect strips.
The best part it that she did not have to remove her tiles, she simply added the stickers on top of them. It is also great if she decides she wants the tiles back in the future.
She said the hardest part about sticking them down was “going round the door frame”. She commented: “Managed to get it all down. I totally messed it up going round the toilet thought. And I wasn’t sure if I’d have enough to correct it and I only brought two packets thinking it would be more than enough.”
Ashton, who shared her tips via her TikTok page @diy_av_home, was delighted by the finished look. She added: “I can’t believe how good these vinyl stickers look! It looks like real wood.”
She warned: “Definately a learning curve and there was a few things I would do differently next time. But for now I’m well chuffed with this. Totally transforms the room.”
She also installed a new toilet roll holder and towel holder in the bathroom. She ordered holders, from Amazon, that required no nailing – just stick on. “They stuck on so easily,” she said.
People rushed to comment on the new look as one said: “Lovely job girl.” “This looks so good,” agreed another.
Speaking about the bathroom vinyl stinkers, one shared: “I did my bathroom floor with these exact ones when 9 months pregnant, full nesting mode. Baby is 10 months now and they still firmly stuck down.”
