'WW3 risks mounting' as top military expert warns three conflicts cause perfect storm

A leading military expert has issued a dire warning about the increasing risks of World War 3 as mounting tensions could lead to a crisis by the end of the decade.

Justin Crump emphasised that unless there are significant and dramatic changes on a global scale, the world will continue to face escalating risks and mounting tensions.

The assessment from the intelligence, security and defence expert and CEO of global risk analysis firm Sibylline comes amid a backdrop of multiple international crises, with conflicts in Ukraine, the Middle East, and various regions in Africa and Asia.

Speaking on the potential for a global conflict, Crump expressed his concerns about the current trajectory of world events.

He told MailOnline: “I don’t think this is inevitable, but I think the risks are mounting.

The conflict has already escalated considerably since Hamas’ October 7 attack, as Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels began hijacking ships in the Red Sea. The UK and US since launched missile strikes on Yemen, but have not deterred the Houthis.

As the shipping route, vital for global trade, remians disrupted, another Iran-backed group – Hezbollah – have lunched attacks on Israel from Lebanon, creating fears of a war between the group and Israel.

The esclatating regional conflicts in the Middle East, coupled with the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war and the threat of invasion of Taiwan by China could create a perfect storm bringing about World War 3.
