World's oldest dog is a year older: Bobi, a socialite who loves naps by the fire, turns 31


Bobi, a purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo from Portugal, was declared the world’s oldest dog living and the oldest dog ever at 30 years and 266 days old, Guinness World Records said February 2, 2023.

He’s a socialite who roams the forest and likes long naps by the fire.

Meet Bobi, a Portuguese pooch declared the world’s oldest dog by Guinness World Records in February, who just celebrated his 31st birthday.

According to the global authority on all things record-breaking, Bobi’s owner was planning to throw the senior a birthday party Saturday at his home in Conqueiros, a rural Portuguese village where Bobi has lived his entire life.

Bobi’s owner, 38-year-old Leonel Costa, called it a “very traditional” Portuguese party where more than 100 guests were slated to attend.
