Woman 'stunned' after discovering little-known button on washing machine that removes gunk

Homeowners are amazed by a washing machine button that makes cleaning gunk a breeze.

A lady named Faith was “stunned” to find a “secret” button on her washing machine that could help clean out the dirt.

She told everyone about it in the Facebook group, Cleaning Tips and Tricks, and showed pictures of her washing machine drawer before and after she cleaned it.

She didn’t know the drawer could come out until she pressed a button that let her take it out.

When she saw how dirty it was, she cleaned it with hot water, soap, and a toothbrush.

She posted her surprise, saying: “How on earth did I not know this drawer came out?” Others in the group said they didn’t know about the button either.

Mandy wrote: “They say you learn something every day. Well, today I learned this thank you.” JJ wanted to know: “Really this top section comes out?!”

Mary couldn’t believe it and said: “Are you serious? I’m forever bashing my knuckles trying to clean the inside and you’re telling me this whole time I could have just simply pulled it out? Running off to try now.”

“The drawer is easy enough to clean as it pulls out but what about the inside of where the drawer came from?”

Faith replied saying she uses an old toothbrush for scrubbing, but not her partner’s.

Emma was puzzled about the grime behind the drawer and asked: “What causes the blackness behind the drawer? Don’t know if I’ve just been lucky but never had it. I always just use powder.”

Janine said that fabric softener can cause mould and recommended using white vinegar and lavender oil instead.

Eileen gave a helpful hint: “Always leave your dispenser drawer slightly open after washing as this helps reduce the amount of mould you get.”

Jayne made a funny comment about people skipping the instructions: “Doesn’t anyone read the manuals anymore,” with a laughing emoji.
