Woman says she's 'trapped' in her own home due to neighbour's parking

She also mentions in the caption that there’s no Homeowners Association (HOA) in her old neighbourhood, so she can’t turn to anyone but the police.

“My neighbourhood does not have an HOA, and in this older part of town, the pavements are very narrow, and this neighbour decides to park blocking the pavement every day,” she wrote in the caption.

“No manners or care for anyone else needing to use the street or pavement.”

Kendra highlighted in the comments that this is a problem for children and disabled people, as they’re forced to walk on the road where they could be hit by a car. The car had Colorado number plates, so if the video was filmed there, blocking the pavement is against the law.

“It shall be unlawful for any person to intentionally obstruct any street, sidewalk, parking lane or median to interfere with another’s immediate, free and uninterrupted use and passage,” says Colorado law.

People in the comments section fully backed Kendra’s frustration with her neighbour. “Being a person that requires a wheelchair to get around, this is so infuriating,” one user wrote.

Another person asked about the laws on blocking pavements across the US. “I thought blocking sidewalks was illegal everywhere in the USA?” they asked. One user suggested calling the police every time the pavement is blocked. “Call them in every single time,” they advised.
