Woman offering a room in her London flat to strangers for £91 on Christmas Day


Christmas Day is a day to spend with family and maybe friends too. But if you’re at a loose end on December 25 then you could also share the big day with an airbnb host who is offering a room in her flat for rent on the big day.

And it doesn’t even come at a premium rate – with would be visitors to host Mirna’s flat being offered a room for £91.

The description on the popular room-booking website said: “Enjoy a shared flat located in the heart of Central London in Bloomsbury, less than 1km from the British Museum, a 15- minute walk from Kings Cross Theatre, as well as 1.3 km from Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

“Popular points of interest near the home stay include Dominion Theatre, Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Oxford Circus and more.”

Mirna adds: “You will be sharing a flat with me and my lovely German Shepherd which stays in my room. 

“I work very unsociable hours, so I may not be able to initially greet u.”

Guests who have used that accommodation say it’s a perfect place – particularly for tourists who are looking to explore the city on foot.

One said: “Spacious and bright room, excellent heating , shower and bed and close to the city center, metro and pubs.”

“Everything was great!” sadi another guest adding: “Perfect for tourist who wants to visit the city walking.”

Another impressed guest said: “Mirna’s place was just what we needed for an overnight visit to central London. 

“We didn’t meet her (or her dog!) but Mirna’s communication was more than enough to help us to get settled in etc. Thank you!”

Millions of Brits are looking to escape this Christmas – with huge numbers looking not just to book a staycation in the UK but to jet overseas instead.

Spain, Greece and the Caribbean are the most requested destinations for much-needed winter sun, while December 23 and 27 are proving to be the top departure days.

Holiday industry experts are forecasting that the next three weeks could be the busiest in years for the sector, with one saying fed-up families are looking to give Christmas shopping the chop and swap the stress for a week in the sun from £265.
