Everybody loves a pie in the autumn and winter months, because if you can’t have a winter warmer when the weather gets cold outside, when can you? They’re filling, they’re warm, and they taste so good. What more could you want?
But one woman’s cheese pie has caused so much controversy that many have accused her of rage-baiting them, as they just don’t believe that she puts so much filling into her pie, as it feels too decadent.
However, Sophie reassured everyone that this is, indeed, how she makes her pie, as she finds it incredibly easy and cannot imagine doing it any other way.
The home cook showed herself holding a gigantic plate of cheese, joking: “Plate of cheese anyone?” explaining that the last time she made that joke, 3 million people thought she was “rage-baiting”. But she wanted to share her simple recipe on TikTok so that other people could enjoy the exact same pie that she does. “I’m genuinely not; this is how I make a cheese pie,” she shared.
It’s not a difficult recipe either, as Sophie doesn’t even make her own pastry, because, let’s be honest, if corners can be cut and nobody would notice, what difference does it make?

Sophie shared that, first off, you need to “line your dish with pastry,” saying, “Yes, I buy pastry. I’m lazy. I’m not making my own. I can make it. But I can’t be a****”.
She used two sheets to make sure that it was all covered at the bottom of the dish, but she just “botched” a bit off the second sheet to make sure there was no visible glass, so the filling of the pie didn’t seep through.
Sophie then cut off the hanging pastry from the edges, and as she did, she said that she doesn’t need to blind bake the pastry because her recipe “comes out perfect every time”.
She explained that she’d had some comments on a previous video asking her to “mix the cheese and onion in a bowl” before putting it into the pie, and she said she was going to take that on board for this pie.
When putting the grated cheese into the bowl, she explained that it was a mix of a block of mild cheddar and a block of mature cheddar.
She then popped the onion in, admitting that she doesn’t really like onion, but everyone “came” for her last time for the little amount of cheese she’d added. But Sophie did joke that if it was just for her, she’d just have cheese.
Once she’d mixed the cheese and onion all together, she got the dish and “loaded the filling in”, saying how much “easier” it was than doing a “skinny little layer of cheese and then a skinny little layer of onion”.
Then she took four eggs that had been cracked and beaten, and poured them all over the cheesy mixture and then mixed everything together.
Sophie then popped on the pastry lid, chopped off the edges, and pinched the pastry together to make a nice edge and “to keep all the cheese inside”.
She said then that it was done, and “grating the cheese was the longest part”. She popped it in the oven for 30-45 minutes, and then she served it “with homemade chips and beans”.
In the comments, people were still not best pleased with her recipe, writing: “All that cheese and onion and no seasoning,” followed by a vomiting face.
Another wrote: “Wait so it’s just melted cheese and onion in a pie crust?”
However, some defended her, sharing: “It’s a cheese and onion pie…what did people think that you were gonna put in it if not a ludicrous amount of cheese?”
