PepsiCo has updated an urgent warning after it emerged that some Monster Munch packs contained undeclared allergens. The Monster Munch Giants Roast Beef 85g packs inside the Walkers Variety Snacks Sharing Box contain wheat (gluten), which is not listed on the outer packaging.

Consumers were urged to check products at home over the weekend and have been told to do the same again in a new update to the health warning today. The FSA updated the recall to include a second best-before date alongside the originally affected date of November 21, 2026. According to Allergy UK, the individual bags inside the box are correctly labelled and do explicitly list wheat as an ingredient. However, the omission on the outer packaging poses a significant risk to shoppers who rely on the main box’s allergen information.

Which Walkers products are affected?

The affected variety packs were sold exclusively at Iceland stores, though the product has now been pulled from shelves.

Shoppers should check their boxes for the following details:

  • Product: Walkers Variety Snacks Sharing Box
  • Size: 655g box (containing six snack packs)
  • Batch code: 107543
  • Best-before dates: November 21, 2026 and January 16, 2027

The Food Standards Agency has advised anyone who bought an affected box and has a wheat or gluten allergy, an intolerance, or coeliac disease not to eat the product.

PepsiCo has confirmed that this warning does not cover a general recall of Walkers multipacks or Monster Munch products. No other Walkers or PepsiCo products are affected by this labelling error, including the exact same snack bags when sold separately.

Customers who have purchased the affected box can obtain a full refund by contacting the PepsiCo Consumer Care Line on 0800 274777 or visiting contact.pepsico.com/walkers.

PepsiCo has issued notices to retailers explaining the recall and has informed the relevant allergy support organisations.
