As morning temperatures drop, countless motorists are battling condensation on their car windows, which can be especially troublesome. Window condensation can steal valuable minutes from our journey and prove remarkably annoying to eliminate.
On top of that, condensation on car windows can lead to fines. Under Rule 229 of the Highway Code, drivers must ensure all windows and mirrors are thoroughly cleared of mist and ice before setting off. “Before you set off, you must be able to see, so clear all your windows.” Thankfully, Amazon shoppers have been championing a specific £10 device designed to absorb moisture in humid spaces, including bathrooms, vehicles, wardrobes, and more.
These hanging dehumidifier pouches can reportedly stay effective for “up to 60 days” depending on temperature and surrounding conditions. They’ve also been engineered to eliminate the unpleasant, musty smell that dampness produces, needing nothing more than suspending the pouch in your chosen spot.
The white crystalline substance inside will extract moisture from the air and convert it into water, and when the crystals have fully dissolved, you simply replace the pouches with new ones. Additionally, these bags represent an improved version with superior material quality, along with a more robust hanger that won’t drop once they’re filled with water, reports the Liverpool Echo.
The dehumidifiers will set you back £6.49 for a pack of three, or £9.98 for a pack of six, with the latter working out at merely £1.66 per unit. And Amazon buyers have awarded them 4.6 stars out of five, based on over 6,500 reviews.
Meanwhile, B&Q is selling this Set Of 2.1Kg Reusable Car Interior Dehumidifier Bags for £9.95. Alternatively, the Simply Reusable Car Dehumidifier from Halfords is priced at £9.99.
However, returning to Amazon, amongst the positive reviews for the dehumidifier pouches, one buyer remarked: “Absorbs the damp well. I have one in my car. It’s not so cold and damp in there on winter mornings, and I have one in the bathroom and there’s no mould on the tiles now.”

Another one said: “Repeat customer as very effective for collecting moisture and reducing effects of dampness in wall cupboards and other spaces.”
Another pleased purchaser wrote: “Takes a few days to start noticing the difference, I hang these from my curtain rails so I don’t have to open the window in the winter, and in my car to reduce the amount of condensation I get. Absolutely fab.”
And another one added: “I used these in my car as I have a bad damp problem in there. They work well and collected a lot of moisture, I’m going to buy more. Really recommend these.”
However, one reviewer did flag a possible concern, noting: “While the product did absorb water from my windows, the collected water all leaked back out again. Tried three of the pack, all the same result.”
