Why Kim Kardashian skipped Met Gala parties after sparking concern over tight corset

The 43-year-old made a statement at fashion’s biggest night in a metallic John Galliano corset and skirt as well as a pair of heel-less platforms, making the jaw-dropping look a feat to pull off in front of the cameras.

Her minute waist sparked concern from fans online questioning where the reality star was “keeping her internal organs” or if she had “ribs removed” and when she was absent from the afterparties many assumed the daring ensemble had become too much for her to handle.

However, Kim’s biology-defying waistline wasn’t the reason she skipped the festivities running into the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Instead, the businesswoman’s strict schedule meant she would never have been able to make the afterparties in the first place as she was speaking in Germany just 13 hours later.

The SKIMs mogul walked out of the lavish ball and almost directly onto a nine-hour plane journey to Europe as she was scheduled to speak at the OMR Festival in Hamburg on Tuesday and Wednesday.

She noted at the festival that it hadn’t been a major sacrifice for her as afterparties are “not really my thing” according to People and she much preferred speaking at the digital marketing-focused event.

Despite her tight schedule, the American Horror Story star still took the time to appreciate her fans at the German airport where she stopped to sign autographs after her redeye flight.

Speaking to Vogue at her final fitting before the Met Gala, the reality star gushed over what a “dream” her collaboration with John Galliano had been and explained the vision behind her Garden of Time-themed look.

However, the clip only sparked more concern for the star as it started with the star standing in her corset and struggling to breathe.

She admitted: “It’s an art form. But I got it.”
