Wheeler Dealers host Mike Brewer has promised to take one action against his fans after receiving a barrage of social media abuse.
The host of the popular classic car TV series admitted he would “block and delete” individuals who made comments in a final warning to viewers.
Mike admitted he had been inundated with negative comments on social media in recent weeks with the messages taking a toll.
Mike said many individuals were “obsessed” over returning to the show’s past instead of enjoying its current success.
He made the admission in a lengthy social media statement uploaded online over the weekend as he gave fans a general update.
Speaking on social media site X, Mike said: “I’ve had lots of comments this week and I don’t even want to highlight it but it’s worth talking about.
“F off you stupid p****, fat cockney b******, the programme would be better without you on it. All that kind of stuff.
“I get tons of it. And it’s fine, I don’t care, you can say what you like about me. I don’t give a s***. Because I simply block and delete you so you just disappear.
“It’s entertaining in that they are obsessing over a past of the show that will never, ever, ever happen again.
“Not in my lifetime will it ever happen again. So yeah they can obsess over that as much as they like. But the future of the show is looking really promising, which is really good.”
Mike’s wife Michelle quickly added that she thought the negative messages were “quite sad really”.
Despite the negative reaction, Mike was keen to stress that not most of his followers were “lovely” and welcome on his platforms.
Mike explained he was amazed his Wheeler Dealer accounts had risen by around 50,000 followers in recent months.
It comes a year after the official channels were hacked with scam posts uploaded under presenter’s names.
This saw around 250,000 followers leave the page with criminals demanding money to release the account.
Mike revealed he had now got the account back and confirmed the page was now “safe” to watch.
He added: “Reflecting on all the people coming back to join us. All the lovely people. Thank you, thank you very much. Me and Michelle really appreciate it and so does all the team.”
