Wetherspoons launches 'first and only' pub at popular UK holiday hotspot

Wetherspoons is set to open its first-ever pub at a Haven resort later this year.

The new venue will be located at Haven Primrose Valley Holiday Park in North Yorkshire and will open in March ahead of the busy summer season.

The new site, said to cost £1.1million, hasn’t yet been named but will have “all the hallmarks of a beloved Wetherspoons”.

The venue will include 250 seats and Wetherspoons’ famous menu options ranging from pub classics to salads, curries and steaks while catering for various dietary requirements.

In the summer months, visitors will be able to enjoy the sunshine in the pub beer garden which overlooks the holiday park’s grounds.

The new Wetherspoons site is a part of Haven’s plans to invest £4million into its food and drink offerings.

Haven’s deal with the pub giant also makes it the “first and only holiday park operator” to launch a Wetherspoons.

Peter Blake, chief operating officer at Haven, said: “We are thrilled to be the first holiday provider to partner with one of the UK’s leading and much-loved pub operators.

“This new venture underlines our dedication to growing our food and beverage partnerships and offering for our holidaymakers and holiday home owners.”

Michael Barron, commercial director of Wetherspoon, added: “We are delighted to be partnering with Haven and are confident that the pub will prove popular with holidaymakers.”

Wetherspoons is the latest brand to join a host of other food and drink outlets at Haven’s 41 locations including Costa Coffee, Burger King and Papa Johns.

Primrose Valley’s park also includes Slim Chickens, Papa Johns and Burger King on site.

Haven has shared several illustrative CGI representations of the interior of the new pub. However, the final look may differ.

JD Wetherspoon will be creating an individually designed carpet, especially for the Primrose Valley location.
