As a parent, Wendy Wuu goes above and beyond to make her son happy.

The New York City-based mom couldn’t find any toys that looked like her 5-year-old son, Deej, who is deaf. Using that as inspiration, Wendy began creating hearing aids just like her son’s for some of Deej’s favorite characters, such as Woody from Toy Story.

“I wanted my child to feel included,” says Wuu. “We never see other children or people with hearing aids or cochlear implants in our community.”
