This is the shocking moment a brave car owner tried to stop a thief in his tracks – before being rammed into a brick wall. Ring doorbell footage has captured the incident, where an opportunist attempted to open a car door outside a home.
After the door to the black SUV, parked on a private driveway, was opened – the man dressed in a black tracksuit, white trainers and a green beanie attempted to flee the scene. But he was confronted with the owner.
In a quickly unfolding escalation, the man reverses the car at full speed off the driveway, taking the owner with him who had opened the door to try and stop his car from being taken.
With the car door left on the road and the owner injured, he screeches out of the driveway and takes off in the damaged vehicle. Holding his apparently injured arm, the man rushes back into his home to alert the police.
The incident is understood to have taken place in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, on December 6 at around 7pm. South Yorkshire Police have been contacted for comment.
