Vladimir Putin's right-hand man accuses Germany of 'planning missile strikes' on Russia

“After all, our eternal opponents, the Germans, have again turned into sworn enemies. Look at how carefully and in what detail the k***** discuss attacks on our territory using long-range missiles, select targets to hit and the most likely ways to cause maximum harm to our Motherland and our people.

“Not forgetting the use of false rhetoric about Germany’s non-participation in the conflict.

“Who could have imagined this just recently? How to respond to this diplomatically? Don’t know…”

Medvedev’s comments come after Putin made his State of the Union address on Thursday,

In it, Putin threatened NATO with nuclear war if the West sent troops to Ukraine.

He said: “(Western nations) must realise that we also have weapons that can hit targets on their territory.

“All this really threatens a conflict with the use of nuclear weapons and the destruction of civilisation. Don’t they get that?

“But now the consequences will be far more tragic. They think it (war) is a cartoon.”

His comments came in response to French President Emmanuel Macron refusing to rule out NATO troops being sent to Ukraine.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz later contradicted Macron, saying: “We cannot be linked at any point or place to the targets that this system can reach.

“This clarity is also necessary. I’m surprised that some people aren’t even moved by it, that they don’t even think about whether what we’re doing could lead to a kind of involvement in war.”
