Vladimir Putin ally threatens the US with nuclear strikes on state TV broadcast

The United States has been issued a chilling threat from a prominent ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin as tensions in the Ukraine war explode onto the global scale.

Vladimir Solovyov, a leading figure in Kremlin-backed media, has openly suggested the possibility of launching nuclear strikes specifically targeting the United States.

Solovyov’s alarming remarks were made during his show “Evening with Vladimir Solovyov,” where he engaged in a disturbing discussion on potential targets for nuclear strikes.

He said: “Why do I think that we should carry out a strike against the West? Because I can see right through them! They say ‘Russia can’t tell us how to help Ukraine!’ It’s not for you to dictate how Russia can respond!

“The issue is, either we start it and conduct the first strike, no one ever rejected an idea of a disarming strike.” His comments, coupled with the ominous tone of the conversation, underscored a direct threat to the United States.

Solovyov didn’t hesitate to express his grievances towards the United States, accusing the nation of presenting an existential threat to Russia.

He emphasised: “Unlike other countries you mentioned [Germany and France], it can present an existential threat to Russia.” His sentiment was echoed by his guest, Andrey Sidorov, who concurred that the primary concern was the United States.

The recent state of the nation address by Putin only added to the apprehension, with the Russian leader asserting the readiness of his country’s strategic nuclear forces.

Putin’s warning against external interference in Russia’s internal affairs further heightened tensions, particularly in light of Macron’s suggestion of NATO ground troops in Ukraine, a proposal swiftly rebuffed by other NATO allies, including the United States.

Solovyov threatened a total of three NATO countries during his rant – the US, France, and Germany. Journalist Julia Davis shared a clip of the broadcast on social media platform X, highlighting the gravity of the situation.

Her post read: “Pundits on Vladimir Solovyov’s show pontificated which Western cities should be the first to be targeted with nuclear strikes. Some of their top choices: Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Hamburg, Munich or Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the United States in general.”

As the rhetoric of nuclear warfare permeates Russian media and political discourse, the United States finds itself in the crosshairs of this dangerous escalation. The country, along with its NATO allies, faces an unprecedented threat.
