Paul told AutoExpress: “But for the ones who are truly unsure about, and in many cases baffled by, the options, you switch on your work brain.
“There is a stock answer. A brief poll in the Auto Express office concluded that it’s generally whichever Skoda best suits their needs.
“In other words, a practical, sensibly priced car that generally ranks well in the Driver Power customer satisfaction survey.”
The Skoda Karoq has previously been celebrated by AutoExpress with the model named the magazine’s Best Used Car in 2023.
Meanwhile, the Skoda Octavia scooped the Best Estate award in 2022 and 2023.
Skoda’s Kodiaq has also picked up the crown for the Best Large SUV no less than four times.
In a selection of the top 10 most reliable used cars in AutoExpress’ Driver Power study, the Kodiaq came in second place.
The model was praised for its “sheer capacity”, while the “interior, flexibility and value for money” also acted in its favour.
According to data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), demand for Skoda models is up in 2024.
A total of 71.643 Skoda models have been registered so far up from the 64,727 which had been taken up until this stage 12 months ago.
This 10.68% difference means that Skoda now makes up 3.95% of the UK car market.
Paul seemed to suggest that cost was still a concern among road users and plays a major role in the final decision-making.
He commented: “The elephant in the room is always how much they will spend, but if they’re flexible and patient, the right car will normally emerge in the end.”
