From the bustling streets of New York City to the snowy peaks of Denali, America’s enormousness means it’s home to a diverse and vast range of natural beauty.
Few other places on Earth have the same geographic range as these 50 United states.
But while every state has its share of beauty, it’s pretty clear that some are more beautiful than others.
To determine which state packs the most natural beauty, travel company Thrillist listed the top 50 comparing things such as mountains, deserts and glaciers.
Alaska was named one of the top states, at number three.

This means you’ll have to take scenic boat trips, helicopter tours, or Northern Lights train rides to get around.
These journeys offer plenty of chances to see whales, bears, sea lions, and other animals usually only seen in zoos.
If you visit in the winter months, Alaska is also the top destination in the US to view the aurora borealis (northern lights).
An hour outside Fairbanks, Chena Hot Springs draws visitors year-round as one of the most accessible hot springs in the state.
