Urgent food recall for Lidl, Waitrose and TK Maxx products over safety concerns

0

It’s always worth monitoring the items in your kitchen, as food and drink products can occasionally be withdrawn from supermarket shelves due to safety issues. In the UK, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) initiates product recalls for a range of reasons – most frequently due to contamination with harmful bacteria like salmonella or listeria, which can lead to food poisoning.

Other grounds for recalls include manufacturing problems, such as fragments of plastic or metal discovered in the product, or incorrect allergen labelling that could present serious hazards for individuals with allergies. Food businesses are legally obliged to recall unsafe products, and the FSA collaborates with local authorities and the broader food industry to ensure affected items are swiftly removed from sale. This week, urgent recalls have been announced for items sold at Lidl, Waitrose, One Stop and TK Maxx across the UK, reports Lancs Live.

If you’ve purchased a recalled product, avoid consuming or using it. Return it to the shop where you bought it for a full refund – a receipt is typically not required.

Below is a list of the latest product recalls and what to do if you have one at home:
