Urgent alert for Asda shoppers as 'unsafe' fruit juices need to be returned to store

The supermarket has issued a customer notice alert recalling Asda brand multi-pack juice drinks.

Drinks manufacturer Refresco Beverages UK Limited, who has some of their stock selling in Asda, said certain fruit juices are “unsafe”.

There is a “potential metal contamination in [the] straws”, which makes them unsafe, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) clarified.

Six fruit juices sold at Asda could be affected, which is why customers have been asked to return the products to the supermarket for a full refund.

Asda said they are conducting a “precautionary recall on six Asda brand multi-pack juice drinks due to potential metal contamination in the straws”.
