The circular route, chosen by many road-trippers, starts at Chipping Campden and goes through Broadway, Snowshill, Stow-on-the-Wold, Daylesford, Adlestrop, Little Compton, Moreton-in-Marsh and Drayton before returning back to Chipping Campden. Places to stop include Broadway Village, with its boutique shops and cosy tea rooms, and the nearby Broadway Tower which offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, including the Malvern Hills.

The Jacobean Chastleton House is the perfect stop for any history lover, and be sure to head to Daylesford Organic Farm to pick up some gourmet produce, artisanal baked goods, and perhaps some picnic supplies if the weather allows.

And if you’re looking to make your journey even more romantic, detour to Stratford-Upon-Avon, where you can visit Kissing Tree Lane in Alveston en route.

Next on the list is a Lake District route that starts off in Keswick, taking you through Borrowdale and Buttermere, stopping off at Ashness Bridge before returning to Keswick.

The experts advise stopping off at each of these locations as they all offer their own stunning views and other benefits.

The third most romantic road trip route is through Snowdonia (Eryri), which will take you from the charming village of Betws-y-Coed to the seaside town of Aberdyfi.

During this drive, be sure to visit the stunning Ynyslas Sand Dunes, which are known to be particularly beautiful at sunset.

The fourth route on the list and one that’s ideal for those hoping to see some breathtaking seascapes, is the the Atlantic Highway, which will take you from North Devon down into Cornwall.

Be sure to stop off in the picturesque village of Clovelly, the coastal town of Bude with its long beaches, and Tintagel Castle, where legend claims that King Arthur was conceived.
