Russia targeted an emergency medical building and a maternity ward in Ukrainian port city of Odesa, the governor of the wider region Oleh Kiper has claimed. Mr Kiper, who shared footage of smashed windows on Telegram, said a 59-year-old man was killed in an attack on a residential area, though staff and patients were successfully moved from the hospital to safety.
Meanwhile, Timur Tkachenko, the head of Kyiv’s military administration, said Putin’s forces had “relentlessly terrorised” the capital with attack drones overnight. “They targeted civilian infrastructure and peaceful residents of the city,” Mr Tkachenko claimed.
It comes as Ukraine’s military claims Russia losses in the more than three-year conflict are nearing one million. In its latest figures, Kyiv says the toll stands at 998,080, with the number understood to include fatalities, as well as soldiers who are wounded, missing, or prisoners of war.
