According to the weather maps, the entire Scotland, Midlands and even Wales will dodge the 30C heat bomb. The weather charts show that 34 cities around the UK are also likely to miss the extreme weather conditions.
Areas around London, Southampton and Plymouth will bake at 30C, the maps have suggested. Cities in Scotland such as Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Inverness are likely to see the temperature levels oscillating between 15 and 16C.
Similarly, cities such as Leeds, Manchester, Stoke-on-Trent, Liverpool, Birmingham, Worcester and Liverpool will see the highs of 25 and 26C.
The dramatic weather map follows a scorching start to summer, marked by three heatwaves and the hottest June on record in England.
The Met Office’s long-range forecast between August 11 and 20 reads: “Low pressure will probably move northeast over the UK in a rather erratic manner at the start of this period, bringing some potentially heavy rain and a small chance of strong winds to northwestern areas.
“Ahead of this, hot and humid conditions are possible across parts of England in particular, though the longevity and extent of any hot weather are uncertain at the moment.
“Looking towards mid-August, and high pressure is more likely to dominate the weather across the UK. This will bring plenty of dry weather for the most part, though northern areas may see a rather more changeable theme with occasional rain or showers and breezier conditions at times.
“Above average temperatures are more likely than not, especially in the south, where it could also be rather humid.”
