Twisted Josef Fritzl admitted he 'could have done lot worse' and was 'born to be a rapist'

Monster Josef Fritzl, who kept his daughter locked in a basement for 24 years, abusing and fathering seven children by her, told a psychiatrist “he could have done a lot worse” to her, in an uncovered court report from 2008.

Fritzl, whose case is back in the spotlight after he was granted conditional leave from prison, told a psychiatrist “I simply have an evil streak,” and said he could “have done a lot worse” to his daughter who he imprisoned and raped for years.

In a chilling insight into Fritzl’s mind, he said he dreamt up his plan to cage his daughter Elisabeth while in jail for the knifepoint rape of a woman.

He revealed the horrifying insights into his mind while awaiting trial in 2008 for raping and imprisoning his daughter beneath his house in Amstetten, Austria.

The revelation comes as he was granted conditional release from a mental health prison today (January 25), after serving 15 years behind bars. He will be transferred to a nursing home, due to his advanced dementia.

Fritzl, now 88, told criminal psychiatrist Dr Adelheid Kastner at the time: “I was born to be a rapist – although I waited a relatively long time before I gave in to my desires. I could have done a lot worse to my daughter in the 24 years I had her in the cellar.”

The court in St Poelten, Austria, which heard the case against Fritzl, commissioned Dr Kastner, 46, to provide the psychiatric examination.

During six interviews each lasting several hours, she found he was raised by a dominant mother with no father figure and even as a teenager he had attacked a girl.

Anger at his mother “left his personality severely deformed” with almost “no ability to empathise with other people” and a desire to dominate women, according to the psychiatrist.

“He is torn apart by desires he cannot master,” her study said.

He said when he raped his daughter he felt ashamed, adding: “I could never look in her face.” The report recommended he be jailed for life, saying he was not insane.
