WASHINGTON – Federal officials have reportedly charged a third defendant in the case in which former President Donald Trump is charged with obstruction of justice in the hoarding of classified information.
Carlos De Oliveira, a longtime employee of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, has been added to the court docket, though charges against him have not been specified, the Associated Press reported.
In June, a federal grand jury indicted Trump and his aide Walt Nauta on obstruction charges related to Trump’s handling of classified material after he left office. Additional charges were added against Nauta in the superseding indictment.
Both have pleaded innocent to the charges, and Trump has denounced the entire investigation as politically motivated.
