Police have confirmed the name of a pregnant woman who died after a two-car collision in Northern Ireland on Sunday (January 11). Cathrene Kith Quiñones Singco passed away after a collision near Nutts Corner in Crumlin, the Police Service for Northern Ireland (PSNI) said.

Detective Inspector Stewart, of the Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We can also confirm that, sadly, Cathrene was pregnant and her baby also died as a result of the collision. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time. We are investigating what happened and require the public’s assistance with our enquiries.” Eight people were taken to hospital after the crash on Sunday afternoon. Cathrene was a backseat passenger and died hospital from her injuries. A man in his 30s, also a passenger in the same car, was critically injured. A number of other people sustained minor injuries in the collision.

A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said: “NIAS received a 999 call at 2.05pm on Sunday, January 11, following reports of a road traffic collision in the Moria Road area, Crumlin.

“NIAS dispatched six emergency ambulances, three ambulance officers, two HART Teams, and the Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS on board were also tasked to the scene.

“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, four patients were taken to Antrim Area Hospital by Ambulance, while another four patients were taken to Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, three by ambulance and one by Air Ambulance.”

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have any dash-cam footage of the road at the time, which could assist with the investigation, can contact police in the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 735 11/01/26.
