Tottenham Hotspur have already discussed a potential reunion with Mauricio Pochettino after sacking head coach Ange Postecoglou on Friday, according to reports. Daniel Levy is said to be considering five candidates following the decision to dismiss Postecoglou weeks after his historic Europa League triumph.
In a club statement, Spurs suggested that Premier League performance was a crucial factor in their move to part ways with the Australian boss. Postecoglou oversaw a 17th-place finish with 22 defeats before salvaging something sweet from a troublesome campaign with a 1-0 win against Manchester United in Bilbao. The Athletic claim that Tottenham are expected to decide on their new head coach next week amid preparations for the 2025/26 season.
And, according to BBC Sport, five candidates, four of whom currently work in the Premier League, make up the Lilywhites’ shortlist.
Brentford boss Thomas Frank is said to currently be the top choice to replace Postecoglou due to his impressive work in West London.
Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola, Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner and Fulham’s Marco Silva have also been touted as possible targets.
The report adds that Pochettino, who currently manages the United States ahead of the 2026 World Cup, is another option discussed by the power brokers.
