This Morning's Clodagh McKenna breaks silence after being heckled by 'rude' Jimmy Carr


This Morning star Clodagh McKenna told fans she was recuperating with a cocktail after she was heckled by Jimmy Carr on the show on Friday. The 48-year-old chef was trying to demonstrate her latest recipe to viewers when the comedian continuously interrupted her, while stood next to Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

Following the segment, Clodagh took to her Instagram page to share a selfie with the hosts from the studio. Alluding to the chaos, she wrote in the caption: “One chicken, 3 recipes, one @jimmycarr I’m officially ready for the weekend @thismorning @itv. Love to the best @alisonhammond55 @dermotoleary.”

Insisting all was however, Clodagh went on to urge fans to catch up on her latest cook which she described as “very funny”. In the comments section, the chef was praised for the way she handled the interruption.

One wrote: “You were amazing Clodagh under extreme interference!!!” Another commented: “Felt so sorry for you, Jimmy Carr was just rude and not at all funny.”

A third typed: “Love your recipes, but this morning was a total disaster. The three of them were so rude.” A fourth commented: “You’re some lady to keep your cool this morning, Clodagh.”

After another suggested she needed a rest, the This Morning star replied: “Currently with cocktail in hand in our pub.”

As she broke down her recipe, the chef recommended leaving chicken carcass to set in a saucepan and went on to introduce three ways of cooking one single chicken.

While demonstrating, Jimmy interjected: “What? Have you not got a bin?”

He continued to say over the chef: “Pop it in the bin! It’s gone, the chicken is gone.”

As Clodagh went on to discuss the flavour of a chicken broth she made, the comedian proceeded to mock the chef and joked: “Wait until she finds out about stock cubes! She’s going to feel like a fool, they’re not even expensive.”

After she finished cooking the delicious-looking meal, Jimmy joined Alison and Dermot but took his quips further by criticising its so-called lack of chicken.

In response, Dermot wrapped his arm around her and said: “It’s hard work when your being heckled by one of the UK’s comedian.”

Jimmy was due to chat to the hosts later on in the show, but some viewers revealed they had already “switched off”.

Over on the platform X, one user posted: “Urgh. Jimmy Carr next. Switching off as he is obnoxious and proved it by having no respect to Clodah’s segment #thismorning.”

A second typed: “@jimmycarr can f**k off after being rude to Clodagh’s cookery item. I’ll switch back over when he’s gone. K**b head #thismorning.”

A third viewer announced: “Thats it for me folks im off #thismorning.”
