Burger King’s latest item in Thailand is simple yet bold. It’s like a Whopper but without the meat, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, condiments and onions. What it does have is cheese — a lot of extra cheese.
Two buns holding 20 layers of American cheese slices make up a vegetarian cheese lover’s dream (and a lactose intolerant person’s nightmare).
The fast-food chain dubbed the sandwich the “Super Cheeseburger.”
“This is no joke. This is for real,” Burger King wrote in a post on Facebook.
Burger King’s Thailand branch launched the item on menus Sunday at 109 Thai baht ($3.1), a reduced price compared to the regular 380 baht ($10.9), according to CNN.
“The real one, real cheese, full of flavor for those who love cheese,” the online menu description reads. “Full of cheese flavor with 20 sheets of American cheese!!! The Real Cheeseburger If you don’t come to play, order now.”
USA TODAY has reached out to hospitality group Minor International, which owns Burger King operations in Thailand, for comment.

Burger King did not clarify how many calories are in a Super Cheeseburger but CNN reported that the cheese alone would be around 2260 calories.
The burger immediately became a social media sensation with some expressing complete disgust while others were intrigued. People have begun posting TikTok videos sharing their experiences trying the sandwich or discussing the desire to visit Thailand for the unforgettable taste.
Other Burger King restaurants in Thailand offer substitutes for beef including their salmon katsu burgers with rice served as a side.
“i don’t live in thailand but if burger king opened in serbia and this burger was on the menu I would try it,” one Twitter user wrote.
“Who’s really looking at this and saying i must get it? You’re shoving in a mouthful of gooiness,” another user tweeted.
