For those getting ready to settle down, there is one California spot that has been named the top spot to pop the question.

A new report that analyzed data from Instagram and TikTok, along with Google Maps user ratings has concluded that California’s Monterey Bay is the most popular proposal spot in the United States.

The travel experts at BoatBooker.com have found the Monterey Bay region has an impressive 4.80 average rating, supported by 753,000 Instagram posts and 49,900 TikTok mentions.

There were also two other California locales on the national list, with Big Bear Lake and Marina Del Rey also cracking the list.

As for Monterey Bay, there are several spots that lovebirds have flocked to for a memorable proposal throughout the years, including Big Sur.

The one-mile trail on Asilomar State Beach features coastal views of Pacific Grove, perfect for a romantic stroll, but if a drive is more up your alley, you can do so just south of there at Pebble Beach.

The 17-mile drive is best known for its “17 Points of Interest” – including The Lone Cypress, a 250-year-old tree perched on a cliff, along with Bird Rock and Stillwater Cove.

The 17 Points of Interest also includes Point Joe, Ghost Tree, Del Monte Forrest and the iconic Pebble Beach golf course, one of the most iconic courses in the world.

Other spots in Monterey Bay to pop the question are Lover’s Point, a 4.4-acre beach and park in Point Pacific Grove, which overlooks the ocean.

Lovers can also go to Carmel Beach in Carmel-By-The-Sea to enjoy pristine sunset views, and Point Lobos in Carmel, dubbed, “the crown jewel of the state park system,” via See Monterey.
