A paint expert has shared a simple way to make your home feel more luxurious, and it’s all to do with picking the right wall colour.
In 2020, Tony Piloseno took to TikTok to share videos from his job at a paint store where he showed the process of mixing paints which his viewers loved watching, quickly amassing him millions of followers.
Being passionate about paints, Tony decided to take advantage of his newfound fame by creating his own paint company, known today as Tonester Paints. Tony continued to use his TikTok following by sharing tips to his followers for how to pick the perfect paint colour to whatever DIY project you might need it for.
In one video, which has been viewed over 9.5million times, Tony shared four of his own paints that he said would be great for people who want to make their homes look more expensive.
“Paint colours that will make a home look more expensive,” he said at the start of the video.
He then jumped in to explain the four colours to consider if you want to make your home feel more luxurious and expensive.
1. London house
Navy blue has long been admired as an elegant and sophisticated shade. Its dark, rich tones can make a room feel cosier and more intimate.
This navy blue colour that Tony recommends is deep and rich, which will make any room feel like it belongs in a million pound mansion.
2. Storms in Paris
This is a deep emerald green colour with blue undertones, which will give your home an earthy tone while still having the luxurious feel that comes with painting a room a jewel-toned colour.
3. A nameless parade
You might have noticed a theme of darker toned colours on Tony’s list, and this third option is no exception. ‘A nameless parade’ is described by Tonester Paints to be a slightly washed black, which will bring a bit of dark academia into your home.
While black can be a harsh colour, this slightly warmed toned black will make your home look cosy yet elegant.
4. Anecdote
Finally on his list, if you don’t want to paint your walls a dark colour and would rather stick to a more neutral colour, Tony recommends choosing a colour like Anecdote, which he describes as a mid-tone grey with hues of blue and green.
While it’s still a slightly darker shade of grey, some might argue that it’s a better colour to paint your walls as you won’t be as limited with the furniture and decor for your home.
