
TAMPA — The Yankees have yet to conduct substantive contract talks with star second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. even though he’s months from free agency, and they did field trade offers for him. But that’s just the business of baseball, both sides agree. Means nothing. Or close to it, anyway.
To hear the Yankees and Jazz talk, they love each other, and want nothing more than to stay together.
That’s a great idea, I say.
The Yankees need Chisholm, and we do, too.
