The Sussexes’ website suggests ‘Meghan wears the trousers in the family' says royal expert

Prince Harry and Meghan have given their online presence a royal refresh, and it appears Meghan is the team lead on this project, says one royal expert.

Their new website, aptly named, www.sussex.com, is royal blue, and welcomes visitors to “The Office” of the “Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” with the messaging front and center on the homepage, topped off with a royal coat of arms, to be more exact, Meghan’s royal coat of arms.

Daily Express US spoke exclusively with royal historian and commentator Rafe Heydel-Mankoo, who says of the rebrand: “I think they’ve finally realized they need that connection to the monarchy if they are going to continue to be relevant and important in the world.”

He adds: “They’re using the royal coat of arms on the website, it feels so much more like a rival website, even if they’re using the wrong coat of arms, they’re using Meghan’s coat of arms, rather than Harry’s.

“So, it looks again as if she’s wearing the trousers in the family.”

Heydel-Mankoo talks about why all of a sudden Harry and Meghan are showing so much interest in the Royal Family, saying: “Their non-royal documentaries, their non-royal events, nobody has that much interest to do with them, unless it’s to do with their proximity to the monarchy.”

And it appears Meghan is the one calling the shots, making the power moves, suggests Heydel-Mankoo: “I think, Meghan also now sees, as part of that, they need to establish in America their own sort of rival court to the British royals.”

But, their moves won’t be all that new: “You’ll be seeing them copying very much the royal protocol — the royal handbook — of what they do, trying to be, essentially, American royalty”

“It’s like, ‘This is my website. This is my coat of arms.’ It’s sort of again, this is Meghan’s show, rather than its Harry’s show, which is something, which of course, we’ve seen a lot of evidence, over the past few years.”
