The 'rebranded' Sussexes with their 'relaunched' website are more narcissistic than ever

Anyone who thought for a moment that the Sussex brand was a “dead man walking” will have had a huge wake-up call.

The dynamic duo from Montecito appear to feel that it is somehow their God-given right to live in the lap of luxury, all the while dispensing wise words from their lofty perches – based on their vast experience of… what exactly?

Let’s see. Well, Harry is a decorated military veteran. He was recently awarded the accolade as a “living legend of aviation” too, although I’m not quite sure what makes his service stand out as being so remarkable other than the fact of who he is.

Weren’t many others perhaps more deserving of recognition fighting on the battlefields of Afghanistan? And they did pilot the aircraft in which they flew too apparently.

Prince Harry Memoir'Spare'

A champion of mental health, philanthropist, and, last but certainly not least, bestselling author of his personal memoir, “Spare”.

The book, if you believe you can call it that, is billed as unflinchingly “honest”. Oh really? Well, you’d have fooled me because much of the “unflinching honesty” has been debunked as decidedly dodgy in substance, up to being an outright load of porkies.

Many commentators, including this one, sincerely believe Haz to be so enraged to the point of losing his grip on reality much of the time. He seems to be subject to the whims of his wife every time she clicks her fingers too.

His maniacal litigious pursuit of the tabloid press perhaps shows his obsessive sense of victimhood more clearly than his other self-centred traits.

Playing the victim, seeking sympathy as a driving force for ultimate empowerment seems to be something that he has in common with his wife as well. The result of all this might seem to expose a tendency toward stratospheric narcissism on the part of both, wouldn’t you say?

Now, speaking of Megs, let’s consider her claims to fame (such as they are, embellishments aside of course).

Perhaps the most visual of these is as an actress playing one of the supporting characters in Suits. Her character has been described as a “talented and ambitious” paralegal, which some might suggest startlingly resembles her real-life “ambitious” persona.

She’s a feminist, she’s a passionate advocate of gender equity too. She champions family and the bonds that do so much to positively contribute to strengthening communities.

My head’s spinning because I really find it hard to understand what all this means in a proper context. Look, I’ll tell you what, maybe you visit the recently “re-launched” Sussex website that gives their brand a new look and see if you can make any sense of the pitch they’re making.

But I thought the reference to family was a real cracker when she has ditched all of her own except for her mother.

I did open the web page, most reluctantly I hasten to add, because I usually find their constant virtue-signalling and basic hypocrisy grossly nauseating.

None of their perceived great achievements were accomplished solely on their own merit, were they? There is a common denominator that links everything they do or say.

The direct ties to the British Royal Family, a fact that they seem to brazenly exploit at every opportunity or ignore whenever it suits them. But without it then who are they? Well, in my opinion, they’re just like a pair of empty barrels making an awful lot of noise.

Harry’s mad dash to the UK to see his pater immediately after the King’s cancer diagnosis, followed by a mad dash back home to the missus to report twenty-four hours later. The following day pitching up at an American football awards ceremony with a cheesy speech delivered as a faux celebrity A-lister.

What is it about the clear differences between celebrity and royalty that many of our friends on the other side of the pond find so confusing and hard to grasp?

And then there is the interview with Good Morning America on the ABC network where he shamelessly punted his creds with pious talk of “reunification”. Reunify what pray?

Oh, something got broken or separated and needs to be put back together again, does it? What got broken and who broke it, many will ask?

But most people already know the answers to that, don’t they? Disclosing the thought of taking American citizenship, whilst offering to deputize for the King as he undergoes his cancer treatment also got a prominent mention.

Quite what would motivate HM to call in Harry to help eludes one, to be honest. I’d likewise be surprised if the Queen or the Prince of Wales would be too enthusiastic at the prospect of Haz pitching in either, but maybe I’m missing something?

The rebrand and relaunch of Brand Sussex coinciding with a whistlestop to Whistler in Canada peppered the headlines the other day. Touching down in their private jet, referencing their arrival as an “engagement”, all the goodies coincidentally got released at the same time.

All carefully choreographed according to the Lala land spinmeisters, of course, and hey presto the Sussexes make their contrived grand entrance in the full media spotlight.

The Haz and Megs show hit the town to promote the Invictus Games, which they now want to commercialize apparently. Someone who makes “TV deals” to tap a source of revenue has been retained too. Might not a wholly vulgar description of these events then become appropriate? Philanthropy for profit seems to resonate rather well, but you can make up your own mind.

Even a cursory glance reveals that their website is emblazoned with the prominent display of the Sussex Coat of Arms, coupled with extensive use of their titles throughout. Is this trading on their royal status for commercial gain? Is this in violation of their agreement and promise to the late Queen? Well, you be the judge.

What planet are these two living on if they honestly believe Harry’s family will take them seriously, much less welcome them back into the fold with open arms, all sins forgiven?

It beggars belief that anyone could fall for this!
