The pretty little UK village 'everyone wants to move to' but you need to be a millionaire

Londoners are spoilt for choice in terms of surrounding towns and villages they can visit for a long weekend, or even to move to if life in the capital gets too much.

But there is a village about two hours from London where you pretty much need to be a millionaire if you want to put down roots, reports My London.

Lurgashall, in Petworth, West Sussex, is a highly desirable village but it’s also highly priced. As well as cute properties, there is Lurgashall Winery, Lurgashall Cricket Club and the historic Noah’s Ark pub.

The village is part of the Lodsworth, Lickshall, and Lurgashall “triangle” and last year The Telegraph reported the average home sells for £1,055,250 –  more than London’s average of £729,802.

It takes about an hour-and-three quarters to get to the area from London, which consists of an hour-long train journey, followed by a 20 minute bus. Despite the three villages being tiny and remote, there’s lots to do.

One of the best things to do in the area is visit Langham Brewery. The independent brewery makes real ales and keg beers, and offers tours that come with tasters. A tour there lasts between 90 minutes and two hours, costing £25 per head.

Kevis House Gallery is another must-visit when in the area. The historic building showcases some amazing contemporary art – having been opened in 2014 – with some even for sale.

While there are plenty of restaurants in the area, such as The Boar’s Head in Horshamm which has 4.5 of 5 stars on TripAdvisor.

One diner wrote: “The execution is very good indeed and the food tasted great. I had the Pork tacos and Beef short rib. Both were delicious.”
