If you’re heading off on an overseas adventure soon then you’ll likely want to try and save money where you can.
One of the best ways to save is by only packing carry on luggage if you can. But with airlines slashing luggage allowance, this can get challenging.
Luckily, Shoezone has prepared its top tips for travelling light and packing as much into that allowance as you can.
The first tip is to roll your clothes rather than folding them.
While folding may be the go-to method for packing, rolling your clothes can be a far more space-efficient way to fit more into your suitcase.
While your clothes might crease in the process, simply hang them in your hotel wardrobe once you arrive. Thick layers, such as puffer jackets, will expand unless rolled tightly, so be sure to pack strategically.
Another way to fit more into your suitcase is is to wear your biggest and bulkiest items on to the flight – including shoes. This will help to free up more space in your suitcase for extra pairs.
These extra pairs should also be packed heel to toe so they can neatly slot together in your case and take up minimal space. Be sure to cover them to keep surrounding items clean.
When you’re thinking about how to pack, make sure you put your shoes at the bottom of your case. This balances out your luggage by placing lighter items on top.
A balanced suitcase can make your journey much easier, as you won’t be fighting with an unstable case as you rush through the airport.
The final tip is to be mindful of what you’re packing. Don’t sacrifice much-needed space on clothes you won’t wear – a few versatile outfits will enable you to mix and match with fewer items of clothing, while leaving you valuable space to bring back some souvenirs.
