These reasons may be why the country remains one of the top destinations loved by UK hollidaymakers. And despite overtourism protests spreading across the country last year, it is clear to see that the number of travellers jetting over the Spain is still increasing, with Brits making up a large portion of that figure.
Despite still being fairly early on in the year, parts of Spain have already seen an rise in holiday bookings. According to data published by booking platform TravelgateX, holidays bookings to the Balearic Islands rose by 17.6% in the last week and by 21.2% in comparison to the same days last year. After Spaniards, who accounted for nearly half of the bookings that took place in the last seven days, Brits made up the second highest number of reservations to the beautiful destination, Majorca Daily Bulletinreports. However, as much as Brits love a Spanish holiday, there seems to another location that might be pulling them away from what they are familiar with.
Amid the growing discontent with mass tourism in popular Spanish destinations, Brits have been looking beyond the country which has lead to an astonishing rise in travel to Morocco, Travel and Tour World reports.
The beautiful country located in North Africa has become a top choice for Brits who have decided to swap out their holiday to destinations such as the Canary Islands and Majorca as result of feeling unwelcomed.

The country’s warm climate is just another bonus that draws people in, this time of year the country reaches a maximum average temperature of 23C meaning holidaymakers do not have to wait all the way until summer to catch some of sun.
Morocco is not the only African destination which seems to be intriguing UK travellers. Eygpt and Algeria are also destinations taking spots on bucket lists as people seek more unqiue experiences.
