A beautiful Spanish coastal area that boasts of high quality of life, green space, and pristine beaches is becoming a top choice for people looking for a quieter life.

And among them is the Hollywood superstar Richard Gere.

The ‘Pretty Woman’ star, 75, and his Galician wife Alejandra Silva, 41, have reportedly been seen viewing luxury properties in the exclusive enclave of Oleiros, just 15 minutes from A Coruña city, reports The Olive Press News.

According to the sources close to the couple, they have shown keen interest in buying a sea-view property in the area for at least two years.

However, no deal has been finalised yet.

A local estate agent told The Olive Press: “They visit every summer and stay with Alejandra’s family, but now they want their own place.”

With a population of around 38,000, Oleiros has become one of Galicia’s most desirable addresses.

The coastal town is considered one of the wealthiest municipalities in Galicia, with well-maintained urban areas, parks, and a strong focus on environmental conservation.

The area has an excellent infrastructure, schools, and public services. Many people who work in A Coruña choose to live in Oleiros due to its tranquility and green surroundings.

The municipality has a strong commitment to sustainability and urban planning, with strict regulations to maintain green spaces and limit excessive urban development.

The area is quite close to Santa Cristina Beach, which is known for lovely restaurants and promenade walks.

Reviewers have hailed the “perfect” beaches that can be found in the region.

However, Richard Gere is not the only high-profile-resident, who if takes a house, will be living in the affluent coastal town

Pablo Isla, former Inditex chairman, and Sandra Ortega, daughter of Zara founder – and Spain’s second-richest person – Amancio Ortega already call the area home.

The announcement follows Gere’s recent acceptance of the prestigious International Goya Award at the Spanish film ceremony in Granada on February 16.

Since marrying Galicia-native Silva in 2018, the American actor has deepened his connection to Spain.

The couple recently settled into a residence in Madrid’s highly exclusive La Moraleja neighbourhood, known for its celebrity and business elite residents.
