King Charles has a very busy day-to-day schedule thanks to his countless importany duties. From meetings to paperwork to royal engagements, the 76-year-old monarch is often moving from one place to the next, rarely having multiple days in a row to put aside his work and just relax.
However, when he does get the chance to take some time out, the monarch appears to enjoy being busy and likes to socialise with family and friends. While it does not happen often, it is believed that Charles also sometimes stays with friends, and even takes some of his home comforts with him.
This was revealed by journalist Tina Brown, who was good friends with the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
In her book The Palace Papers, the journalist said that according to insiders, Charles allegedly sends a van of his possessions to his friends’ country houses the day before he’s due to stay.
On the van there are reportedly two huge and unexpected items – his orthopaedic bed and landscape paintings of the Scottish Highlands.
It is believed the King also brings his own lavatory seat and Kleenex Velvet lavatory paper.
This has never been confirmed by the monarch himself.
The King also reportedly takes certain items with him when he goes away on royal visits.
As reported by The Mirror, sources have said previously that Charles always travelled with his very own ‘breakfast box’, which contains organic produce he has handpicked from his royal estates.
Former royal chef Graham Newbould once revealed: “Wherever Charles goes in the world, the breakfast box goes with him.
“He has six different types of honey, some special mueslis, his dried fruit and anything that’s a bit special that he is a bit fussy about.”
