Target candle recall: Nearly 5 million Threshold candles recalled; 6 injuries reported

Target is recalling nearly five million candles after reports of nearly 140 of them cracked while burning, injuring at least a half dozen people.

The lot of Threshold glass candles was sold at Target stores and Target.com between August 2019 and March 2023 and cost between $3 and $20, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is reporting.

At least six people have reported being injured by them, the federal agency said.

“The candle’s jar can crack or break during use, posing laceration and burn hazards,” the Minneapolis-based retailer said in a statement online Thursday.

“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled candles,” a notice on Target’s website states.
